TS Galaxy FC marksman, Wayde Lekay, is confident that the Rockets will amass that much needed victory against AmaZulu tomorrow at Mbombela Stadium.
The game is at 5:30pm and it will be shown live on SuperSport PSL (channel 202).
Lekay netted against Usuthu last season at the iconic Mbombela Stadium. Ironically, that was the first victory for the Rockets in the elite league.
“It’s been difficult not to get a win as yet. It is disappointing in a sense. With the quality and the strength of this team, we should do a lot better. With the new coach coming in, nothing has changed. The guys are still motivated. Everyone is working hard. The next game is an important one. We haven’t won yet. We have to turn the corner. That’s the most important thing for us right now,” Lekay explained.
After six league outings, the Rockets are still winless.
“This is the perfect opportunity for us to get our first win. We did it last season, we got our first win against AmaZulu. Maybe it is written by someone that we will get our first win of this season against AmaZulu. The guys will work as hard as they can. We are working as hard as we can to get the results. That’s the most important thing,” he added.
The Rockets have only lost one game at home this season. In the last game, we succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the expense of Sekhukhune United.
“We want to make Mbombela Stadium our fortress. Hopefully, we can get fans back to the stadium soon. We will go out there and do our best and try to get the three points,” Lekay detailed.
Last week, Bafana Bafana played in front of 2000 people at FNB Stadium against Ethiopia in a crucial World Cup qualifier.
“We all want to play at packed stadiums. Watching Bafana Bafana playing in front of their fans was inspiring. It is exciting to see that there is progress.” Lekay stated.
