Tshepe itching to come back

TS Galaxy midfield maestro Karabo Tshepe has endured some turbulent times for the first time in his football career.

At the start of the year, Tshepe sustained a knee injury and was compelled to undergo an operation.

He was ruled out for the rest of last season. Tshepe has been working feverishly behind the scenes to get back to action.

The talented midfield dynamo is closer to getting back to action again.

“The recovery is coming along nicely. I’ve been out for about eight months now. For the past six months, I’ve been doing rehab. Slowly but surely, I’m getting there. I’ve started running now. I believe in the next six weeks, I’ll be eligible to play,” Tshepe explained.

‘Stitch’, as he is affectionately known to the masses in the football fraternity, has been out of action for eight months.

“My family has helped me during this turbulent period. I won’t forget my teammates. They have been pushing me to work hard. I want to come back and play. They have indicated that they miss playing alongside me. That’s encouraging. That is a motivation on its own to put effort into everything that I do. Even when I’m home. I push myself to the limit. I want to come back earlier than expected,” he added.

Tshepe joined the Rockets from Black Leopards at the start of the 2020/21 season.

“It has been challenging, I must say. At first, it was frustrating because I’ve never been out for so long. Having to sit outside and see the guys playing without me being in the field, has been frustrating for me.

“My family helped me spiritually. They have pushed me to work hard. Their support has been immensely helpful. They have been waking me up every day so that I can go to training to do my rehab. It has helped me in a way that I need to be strong mentally for my family, myself, and kids. At the end of the day, this is my job,” Tshepe detailed.

Tshepe is a nightmare to mark on his best days.

“At first, I couldn’t run, I couldn’t walk. My knee was swollen. I had to get my knee fixed.” Tshepe explained.

His presence will certainly make a huge difference for the Rockets.
