Galaxy endured turbulent times tonight against Cape Town City. The Rockets lost 3-2 at the expense of Cape Town City in the DSTV Premiership at Cape Town Stadium.

It was a hattrick of defeat for the club. The Rockets lost to Stellenbosch FC and Mamelodi Sundowns in the previous two games heading in to this encounter against the Citizens.

The club had set it sights on finishing the year on a high note but unfortunately it wasn’t to be.

City broke the deadlock as early 10 minutes. Surprise Rhalani netted the opener for the home side.

Two minutes later, Mxolisi Macupu restored parity for the Rockets with a well taken finish.

Macupu completed his brace in the 34th minutes. The diminutive striker finished with aplomb to put us in the lead.

Mduduzi Mdatsane levelled matter in the 38th minutes after slotting in a penalty.

Just before the interval, Winsten Van Der Linde committed a blunder and Morris tapped in.

It proved to be a winner for City. The lads fought gallantly but unfortunately it wasn’t to be for them on the day.

They will be looking to come back strong in the new year. We will open our account against Baroka FC on 5th of January.

After eight games, the Rockets have amassed seven points.
