TS Galaxy head coach Owen Da Gama is satisfied with the foundation that they have laid at the club.
Da Gama took over the coaching reins back in January. He transformed the Rockets from relegation candidates into top eight contenders.
Unfortunately, the Rockets missed out on a top eight finish on the last day of the 2020/21 league season.
“It’s been a very fruitful journey for me to understand and learn the strength of the players. As a technical team, we are their fathers. We are their mentors. We are their teachers. At the end of the day, they are our children when they come to training. We’ve tried our best to get into their minds. We’ve tried to understand their challenges,” Da Gama explained.
The Rockets finished 9th on the log with 35 points after 30 matches. The club will be looking to build on that foundation in the new season.
“We’ve learned quite a few things. Ethan Brooks was nowhere in the picture when we started. He then went to the MDC team. He went to the MDC team and performed beyond expectations. This is a player with a pedigree. He has been to the junior national team. It was nice to see him stepping up and playing.” Da Gama elaborated.
