Lifa Hlongwane is enjoying his best football at TS Galaxy Football Club and the President of the Rockets, Tim Sukazi doesn’t regret his decision to acquire the services of the talented midfielder.
During the January transfer window, Galaxy announced the signing of Hlongwane. He joined the Rockets as a free agent after parting ways with Maritzburg United.
Asked by the members of the media about his decision to sign Hlongwane despite rumours that he was shown the door because of ill-discipline in his previous club, Sukazi explained why he didn’t entertain the unfounded speculations.
“It simples says our values or family athos are not guided by rumour. We believe in what we see and what we see is what we can only see before us. Lifa Hlongwane was said to be this and that and another way than another. Within our club, he hasn’t been absent once. We haven’t see any of those things. Instead, we’ve seen this amazing player,” Sukazi elaborated.
Hlongwane proved to be the best signing for Rockets in the previous transfer window.
“Had we’ve been rumour mongars, probably Lifa Hlongwane would have been lost to football. His presence benefits the game as it benefits our club. I think, it was a master stroke move. It was quite thoughtful of us to take it on that manner. Look at Lifa now. Look at how he plays. Had we been those rumour mongars and take decisions on what we read on papers, he would have been lost to the system,” he added.
Hlongwane is now donning the famous jersey no.10 at Galaxy this season. After scoring the crucial winner against Orlando Pirates last season at Mbombela Stadium, midfield dynamo replicated his displays against Mamelodi Sundowns at the start id this season. He netted the winner against the reigning defending champions.
“I’m glad that we took that decision and supported him. He has done well. He started all our last 13 games and scored against Orlando Pirates last season. He has scored against Mamelodi Sundowns. He has got this big match temprement. We need a player like that. We are quite happy. We are happy that we decided on his favour on this regard.” Sukazi concluded.
The Rockets remains the only unbeaten team in the league so far this season after five games. They also haven’t been broken at the back.
On Saturday, they will square off against Cape Town City at Mbombela Stadium. The game will kickoff at 8pm.
