TS GALAXY THUMPS BLACK LEOPARDS IN VENDA
TS Galaxy are enjoying a new lease of life under the tutelage of the legendary, Owen Da Gama.
The Rockets were going through turbulent times before the regime of Da Gama.
But the former South African Under-23 mentor has changed the fortunes of Galaxy since taking over the coaching reins.
After four games at the helm, Da Gama has produced two victories, one stalemate and suffered one defeat.
This afternoon he trashed Black Leopards 3-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium in Venda in the DSTV Premiership clash.
Wayde Lekay, Bathusi Aubaas and Mxolisi Macuphu were in the scoresheet for the Rockets.
Lekay broke the deadlock in the 35th minutes. Sibusiso Khumalo fouled the menacing, Lindokuhle Mbatha in the box and was penalized. Macuphu stepped up to take the penalty but his effort was saved by King Ndlovu. The rebound fell in to the path of Lekay who slotted the ball in to the back of the net.
The game went in to the interval with the Rockets leading 1-0 by Lekay’ solitary strike.
After the interval, Aubaas opened his account for the season. Luckyboy Mokoena curled in a dangerous ball in to the box from a corner kick but Ndlovu came out his line to punch the ball. It fell in to Aubaas who finished with aplomb.
Mxolisi Macuphu added the third with a thumping header. He assisted by Lindokuhle Mbatha.
Black Leopards were reduced to 10 men after Sibongiseni Mthethwa was shown the red card for a dangerous play on Mokoena.
The Rockets kept their unbeaten run on the road in 202 intact. They have now played three games away from home and won two and drawn one in the new year.
The club is now currently 10th on the log with 15 points after 14 games.
