Galaxy’s positive start continues in 2022
TS Galaxy Football Club is slowly but surely moving away from the relegation zone.
The Rockets moved to position 13 on Saturday after sharing the spoils with AmaZulu in a 0-0 stalemate at the iconic Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
Usuthu dominated the first half but couldn’t beat Melusi Buthelezi between the sticks.
The best chance for Galaxy fell for Orebotse Mongae. He did well to steal the ball in the path of Thapelo Xoki and then challenged the pace before shooting off target.
It was a glorious opportunity for the Rockets but Mongae fluffed his lines. Sead Ramovic and his technical team were forced to make two changes.
Ebrahim Seedat was suspended after receiving a red card this past weekend while Lifa Hlongwane missed out because of an injury.
The game went to the interval at 0-0. After half-time, Ramovic introduced Shane Roberts in the place of Mlungisi Mbunjana.
The Rockets created half-chances in the second stanza but couldn’t turn them into goals.
Galaxy is now unbeaten in the last three games. The point propelled the Rockets to number 13 on the log with 17 points after 19 league matches.
They will now entertain Mamelodi Sundowns at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday in the DSTV Premiership clash at 7.30 pm.
