Sead Ramovic has explained how they plotted the demise of Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Rockets ended their winless streak against the Brazilians in the league. Lifa Hlongwane was on the scoresheet for Galaxy at Loftus Versfeld.
The reigning champions enjoyed a flawless run against Galaxy in the previous three league encounters.
Ramovic and his troops were determined to change their fortune against Sundowns and they did exactly that.
The German elaborated his tactically master plan.
“We knew that Sundowns are a well-organized side. We needed teamwork to succeed today. That was going to be key in getting the points. This is exactly what we did. We were aware that Sundowns is the benchmark in our league. They have an unbelievable team and great coaches,” Ramovic elaborated.
The Rockets showed resilience after the interval as they sustained pressure and survived numerous attacks by Sundowns.
“This was a huge challenge for us but we knew that if we keep focus and the desire to fight for every itch in the field of play, we can compete against any team. We were also aware that it was going to be a transitional game. We did well and executed our plans correctly. We would love to congratulate the opponent for a fair game,” he added.
On Sunday, Galaxy will welcome SuperSport United at Mbombela Stadium in the Dstv Premiership encounter.
“This is a second game, we have to stay calm. We have to also stay focused and keep on working hard. We will analyze the game and see where we need to improve so that we can get better.” Ramovic concluded.
