Msimango eager to come back stronger

An injury at the start of the campaign prevented TS Galaxy FC defender Given Msimango from featuring for the Rockets so far this season.

But he’s now back into action. Earlier this week, Msimango featured for the Rockets when they played a friendly match against Mamelodi Sundowns at Chloorkop.

Msimango sustained an injury during pre-season in Potchefstroom.

“I’m moving well without any pain. At the moment, I’m working on getting game time through friendlies and getting full sessions under my belt. We will see how this Fifa break goes. After the Fifa break, I’ll know where I am in terms of fitness-wise,” Msimango detailed.

Msimango has missed the first part of the season.

“It’s been a very difficult time but I won’t lie. I have a good support system on and off the pitch. I’m working hard. So far, so good,” he added.

The Rockets have endured turbulent times in the league. After 10 games, the club is languishing 15th on the log standings.

“When the team is not doing well, you are always eager to come back and help the team,” Msimango added. “Unfortunately, physically I couldn’t do that. I could only be there in spirit and from the mental side by speaking with the guys and encouraging them.

“It’s been a difficult time but not only for me personally but for the club. We are at the bottom of the log. I’m positive that we will bounce back. We’ve been working hard at training and the results will come,” Msimango explained.

Next week, Galaxy will welcome Swallows FC to the iconic Mbombela Stadium.

“It is simple, defend well and score goals. We’ve been lacking in both aspects. We’ve also conceded a lot of goals and we haven’t been scoring that much. We need to fix it on both ends. We should start by protecting the point that we have and go for the maximum points.” Msimango concluded.
