Mongae promises to steer Galaxy to safety

TS Galaxy FC winger Orebotse Mongae has vowed to avoid the Promotional Play-offs.

The Rockets will square off against Chippa United on Saturday at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

The match will kickoff at 3pm. Galaxy is in desperate need of points heading to this encounter.

A victory will propel Galaxy to safety in the DSTV Premiership. After 29 games, the Rockets are 14th on the log with 27 points.

Mongae who knows all about the trials and tribulations of playing in the GladAfrica Championship has made it clear that they will make everything in their power to avoid relegation.

“This game is very crucial. It is the game of our lives. We have to give it our all. We need to make sure that we win the game. It is a do or die for us,” Mongae explained.

Mongae signed with Galaxy from Platinum City Rovers.

“It is very important to make sure that we don’t go to the Play-Offs. We have to avoid the Play-Offs at all costs. We also want to go home and spend some time with our families. We need time to recover,” he added.

Pretoria University and Cape Town All Stars have already secured their place in the Play-offs.

“Pressure will always be there. It is how you handle that pressure that matters. We have to be ourselves. We have to be at our best. We have to do what we know best,” Mongae elaborated.

The Rockets have been decent away from home in the second half of the season beating the likes of Kaizer Chiefs, Sekhukhune United, and Swallows FC.

“Going away is not always easy. The pressure is less when you are away. The pressure is always on the home team. No team like losing at home. That’s why we have to be at our best. We always make sure that we snatch something away from home.” Mongae concluded.
