MBUNJANA HAPPY TO REUNITE WITH DA GAMA

The industrious, Mlungisi Mbunjana burst in to scene under the tutelage of the majestic, Owen Da Gama at Highlands Park and is looking forward to reunite with the former Bafana Bafana assistant coach.

Mbunjana has been a vital cog for TS Galaxy in the middle of the park. He joined the club at the start of the season.

The lanky midfielder is excited to reunite with Da Gama who was officially unveiled as the new Head Coach of TS Galaxy FC on Monday.

The 59-year-old penned a three year contract with the Rockets.

Speaking with TS Galaxy website, Mbunjana was over the moon about the prospect of working with Owen once again in his career.

“It feels normal to reunite with coach, Owen. He is a football coach and I’m a football player and we are in the same industry. In football coaches come and go. We meet new people and reunite with others. I must say, it is a good feeling because I’ve worked well with coach, Owen. I’m also looking forward to work with him again here at TS Galaxy,” Mbunjana stated.

Da Gama has already commenced his job having taken the coaching reins from Zipho Dlangalala.

He is facing a mammoth task of turning things around. The Rockets are winless in their past eight encounters.

“I don’t think we’ve been doing bad. It just that we’ve been unfortunate in some instances if you look at goals that we’ve been conceding. We’ve been conceding cheap goals. We’ve been conceding early and we have to fight back in to the game which changes the whole completion of the match. We end up rushing things,” Mbunjana explained.

On Saturday, the Rockets will entertain Chippa United at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit at 3.30pm in the DSTV Premiership clash.

“It’s been a while that we’ve played our normal game not having to chase games or having to find an equalizer. We need to fix that. If we can stop conceding goals, we will stand in a better chances of winning our games because we are capable of scoring goals and we’ve been scoring goals.” Mbunjana said.

The Rockets are currently occupying 13th position on the log with eight points after 10 games.
