Sphiwe Mahlangu finally netted his maiden league goal for TS Galaxy FC this past weekend and it turn out to be the winner.
Mahlangu is born and bred in Mpumalanga. Ironically, the Rockets are also from Mpumalanga.
The dribbling wizard scored a scorcher against Swallows FC this past weekend at Mbombela Stadium as Galaxy emerged as 1-0 victors at the expense of Swallows.
“I’ve been working very hard trying to break into the team. That was my priority to start the game. The coach believed in me and I grabbed the opportunity with both hands,” Mahlangu explained.
He joined the Rockets at the start of last season.
“As a player when your score, your confidence goes up. The goal has boosted my confidence. I want to score more goals,” he added.
His goals propelled Galaxy to number 14 on the log.
“It is such a blessing to be scoring for the team from my hometown. I’m so blessed to be playing for this team. I’m happy and I want to put all my efforts to make sure that this team does stay in the DSTV Premiership,” Mahlangu elaborated.
On Saturday, the Rockets will welcome Cape Town City at home. The game will kickoff at 3.30 pm.
“We have to continue to play well and we will be rewarded for our hard work,” Mahlangu concluded.
