After completing his debut season in the top-flight, Wayde Lekay has opened up about his burning desire to bang more goals.

The striker burst onto the scene last season when he netted on debut against AmaZulu at Mbombela Stadium.

“I want to score more goals this season. I’ve set a target for myself. I want to reach those goals and help the team as much as I can,” Lekay elaborated.

In 28 league appearances, Lekay notched up three strikes.

“We definitely want to compete in this league. We are going to be a team that will compete,” he added.

The Rockets missed out on the top eight last season because of an inferior goal difference.

“We’ve been putting in a lot of work. It is good and it is the foundation that we need as a club. Once we get through this hard work and then the rest will follow. We are all feeling confident about the season. We can do a great job.” Lekay concluded.
