TS Galaxy got the better of AmaZulu last night at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit to maintain their unbeaten start in the DSTV Premiership after two rounds of matches.
Wayde Lekay netted the winner for Galaxy in the 28th minutes. Ebrahim Seedat delivered an exquisite corner kick that fell in to the path of Lekay.
The diminutive striker rose the highest to put the Rockets in to the lead. Galaxy dominated possession and created better goal scoring opportunities throughout the match.
Shaun Mogaila was instrumental in the first half. He was tormenting Sibusiso Mabiliso on the left and back of Usuthu with his pace and trickery.
The speedy winger should have doubled the lead before the interval but his shot sailed wide of target. Galaxy continued to pile the pressure in the second half.
Bevan Fransman was sacrificed before the interval after suffering an injury. He was replaced by Gerald Modisane. Galaxy are campaigning in the elite league for the first time in their existence.
After two games, the club is still unbeaten. The Rockets shared the spoils with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila this past weekend in Venda in a 1-all stalemate.
We’ve now accumulated four points out of the possible six in their first two games.
Our next task is now Kaizer Chiefs next week Wednesday at FNB Stadium. The game will kickoff at 7.30pm.
Galaxy will be out to maintain and stretch their unbeaten run in the elite league.
