TS Galaxy Football Club marksman Augustine Kwem is eager to make his mark for the Rockets.
The Nigerian lanky striker penned a two-year deal with Galaxy at the start of the season.
He was previously in the books of Chippa United where he was playing regularly and scoring goals consistently.
Injuries have prevented him from featuring regularly for the Rockets.
“I’m eager to go back because I haven’t played for a while. I only played the last couple of games towards the end of the first round. Now, I’m fine and I just thank God that, I’m up for selection. Whenever I’m given a chance, I’ll give my optimum best,” Kwem explained.
The 26-year-old talisman arrived at Galaxy with huge expectations and he is ready to dazzle for the Rockets.
“It is something emotional for me. It is the first time, I’ve experienced this period in my career here in South Africa. During my stint with Chippa United, I use to have slight knocks and I’ll rest for two days and then come back but thank God that the physiotherapist has helped me to get back to my fitness,” he added.
Kwem showed some glimpses of his brilliance towards the end of the first round for Galaxy.
“What has kept me going is my family and the position that we are occupying on the log. It is pushing me to come back because I know what I can offer,” Kwem stated.
The Rockets are languishing at the foot of the table.
“The experienced player must step up. That’s is going to be key for us. We need to fix our defence and avoid conceding cheap goals. The less we concede, I think, it will be better for us. If you look at the first round, we conceded more goals and scored more goals also. If we can limit the number of goals that we concede, the better.” Kwem elaborated.
