HOTSEAT WITH COACH ZIPHO DLANGALALA

TS Galaxy Football Club (FC) is the new kid on the block but the club is already synonymous with success.

The Rockets defied the odds to be crowned the Nedbank Cup champions two years ago against Kaizer Chiefs at the iconic, Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.

The club’s meteoric rise continued last year when the Rockets acquired the Premier division status of Highlands Park.

Interim coach, Zipho Dlangalala has revealed his ambition of turning Galaxy in to a formidable force in South Africa football.

Dlangalala took over the coaching reins from Dan Malesela at the end of last year.

“A lot of work has been done from the very first day during pre season until now. The effort is there. The players are committed. We will continue with the mission of the club. This is a new brand and we are all committed and clear that we need to build it and make it a force that everybody should seat and look at,” Dlangalala elaborated.

Galaxy are pitted against Baroka FC tomorrow at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The club has a solid home record having played three games in theie own territory. The Rockets have registered four points out of possible nine at home.

“The players are responding like professional players. We know that we have a very hard task. Every team that we will play against, it is going to be difficult for us. We don’t have history in the league. There is no reference. We respect every opponent and we treat them with that respect. We are preparing very well for our next game like we always do against any other 15 opponents in the league,” Dlangalala detailed.

The Rockets will be looking to end our woeful run. The club going through a barren run of results. We are winless in the past six games. That’s something that we will be looking to put to bed tomorrow afternoon.

“Whatever we want to do, we can do. We clear that what happened cannot be changed. But it is also in our hands to change the course of events. That’s what we are committed to do. We would have preferred to play a weaker opponent but as it always be, there’s no weaker opponents,” Dlangalala stated.

The club suffered three defeats on the trot in the month of December at the expense of Stellenbosch FC, Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City.

“We have to continue working hard and accomplish our mission and on Tuesday (tomorrow), it will be a first step towards accomplishing that mission.” Dlangalala explained.

The club is facing a very tricky calendar in January. But we have to lay the foundation against Baroka.
