Galaxy secure back to back wins at home

Sphiwe Mahlangu produced a moment of magic to help TS Galaxy move away from the relegation zone.

The dribbling wizard started his first game of the season for the Rockets and grabbed that opportunity with both hands.

Mahlangu netted a scorcher seven minutes to the match to put the Rockets in the lead.

Sihle Nduli instigated the move before laying an assist to the path of Mahlangu who finished with aplomb to beat Jody February for Swallows between the sticks.

Galaxy started the match at the bottom of the log after Marumo Gallants and Chippa United won their matches On Saturday.

The victory was of paramount importance and the lads delivered. They dominated the bulk of the possession and created better goalscoring opportunities in the first half.

The likes of Tshegofatso Nyama and Mxolisi Macuphu all got opportunities to increase the lead but couldn’t find the back of the net.

Vasilaje Kolak made one significant save in the first half to deny Lebogang Mokoena after he failed to handle the cross delivered in the box by Dillon Solomons from the right and side. Kolak did well to redeem himself from that blunder.

At the interval, the Rockets were leading 1-0. The search for the second goal continued in the second half. Macuphu almost netted an audacious strike in the 63rd minute but was denied by February.

He executed a well-time bicycle kick but February showed good reflects. The Swallows net-minder was earning his salary. He denied Bathusi Aubaas who unleashed a thunderbolt from distance in the 75th minute.

Three minutes later, Swallows nearly restored the parity but Kolak did well to keep Khethokuthula Ndlovu at bay.

The Rockets managed the game well and secured back-to-back wins at home and move to number 14 on the log with eight points in 11 league outings.
