The relegation battle will go down to the wire after TS Galaxy Football Club shared the spoils in a 0-0 stalemate with Marumo Gallants at Mbombela Stadium this past weekend.
The Rockets still have their fate in their own hands. They are languishing 14th on the log with 27 points after 29 league outings.
Galaxy will now lock horns against Chippa United at Nelson Mandela Stadium in what promises to be a mouthwatering clash on Saturday afternoon.
Anyone between Baroka, Swallows FC, and TS Galaxy can still be relegated. But the equation is simple for the Rockets, they have to beat the Chilli Boys to secure their status. Whatever happens in other matches, it won’t affect them if they get the better of Chippa.
The Rockets created better chances in the first half against Gallants. The best chance of the match fell for Orebotse Mongae.
Melusi Buthelezi played a long ball which was flicked by Lifa Hlongwane before the ball fell to the path of Lindokuhle Mbatha who delivered a clever pass to Mongae.
The talented left-footed winger was denied from the close range by Washington Arubi.
Despite dominating the bulk of the possession, Gallants didn’t hurt Melusi Buthelezi between the sticks for the Rockets. In the end, the spoils were shared between the two sides. Galaxy will have to do it on the last day of the league.
