Melusi Buthelezi continued with his fine form to the new season and entered his name into the history books.
The Inquthu-born net-minder has now kept five clean sheets on the trot.
He becomes the third goalkeeper in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) era to keep five clean sheets in a row in his first five matches in the league.
Buthelezi has denied the likes of AmaZulu, Mamelodi Sundowns, SuperSport United, Lamontville Golden Arrows, and Chippa United.
He joins the list of the elite which includes Moeneeb Josephs and Wayne Roberts who are the only keepers in the PSL era to keep five clean sheets in their opening five matches.
Roberts was with Wits back in 2003 when he kept five clean sheets in his five opening games of the season while Josephs was with Orlando Pirates in 2009.
Melusi will now set his sights on surpassing Roberts who holds the record for the most consecutive clean sheets in the PSL era. Roberts kept nine clean sheets in the trot for Wits in 2003.
