Ethan Brooks feels honoured to be included in the 23-man squad that will represent Bafana Bafana in the World Cup qualifiers next month.
The TS Galaxy midfield maestro is proving to be a revelation in the South African football landscape.
Brooks burst onto the scene last season for the Rockets. He made his debut for the South African senior national team in an international friendly match against Uganda at Orlando Stadium not so long ago.
He grabbed his opportunities with both hands and was included in the Cosafa Cup squad.
Brooks was an integral member of the squad that steered Bafana Bafana to glory in Gqeberha.
Speaking with the TS Galaxy website, Brooks stated that he is over the moon for receiving the Bafana Bafana call-up.
“I feel honoured to be part of the 23-man squad that will compete in the World Cup qualifiers for Bafana Bafana,” Brooks elaborated.
Bafana Bafana will lock horns against Zimbabwe in Harare on the 3rd of September and then host Ghana three days later at FNB Stadium.
“We have to go into these two matches with a positive mindset. That’s key for us. We should be able to start on a good note against these two countries,” he added.
The new Bafana coach Hugo Broos called most of the players that helped Bafana Bafana to triumph in the Cosafa Cup.
“Some of us have played together. It is not a very new squad. It is a team that can compete and has been together before. I believe that will help us going to these qualifiers.” Brooks stated.
